Olympia spring 15The 2016 Legislative Agenda conveys Sumner’s top priorities, given issues arising in Olympia this year.  Many issues do not recognize legislative district boundaries. Topics like shared revenue and public records affect all of us. In addition, Sumner sits at the crossroads of rivers, rail, and freeways. We are also the major distribution center for such brands as Costco, REI, Amazon.com, Keurig Green Mountain and Office Depot. For example, if Sumner’s 142nd Avenue is out of commission for flooding or traffic congestion, the Downtown Seattle store of Lululemon gets no athletic wear to sell; the Costco in Tacoma has empty shelves and the McDonalds in Pasco can’t sell any Big Macs because the buns are baked in Sumner.   This is a “short” session, but a very important one for all of Washington’s Cities, including Sumner.
