Rainier View Park – Covered Court

CIP 18-04

Project work involves construction of a covered sport court facility including:  Selective site demolition, concrete foundations and floor slab, structural steel frame enclosure over sports courts, glue-laminated wood roof purlins and plywood roof deck, prefinished standing seam metal roofing system, sheet metal flashings and gutters, basketball backstops, volleyball equipment, painting, electrical receptacles, lighting and minor site improvements.

  1. NOTICE TO BIDDERS: Sealed bids (All Parts) shall be delivered and received by the City of Sumner in the office at the Permit Center counter at Sumner City Hall located at 1104 Maple Street, Sumner WA 98390 for the Rainier View Park – Covered Court (CIP 18-04) for the single General Contract which includes General, Civil, Mechanical, Plumbing, Electrical and other work, located at 15603 Meade McCumber Road East, Sumner, WA 98390 as indicated on Drawings. Provide bid proposals by the due date and times listed below.  Bids received after the time fixed below for receiving bids will not be considered.  Shortly after 10:00 a.m., bids for will be publicly opened and read aloud.

Bid Range: $1,450,000.00 to 1,700,000.00

Bid Proposals are due as follows:

Base Bids and Alternate Bids, Plus Attachment 10:00 AM Pacific Daylight Time August 29, 2023

Form ‘A’: Alternate Bids and names of HVAC, Plumbing, and Electrical Subcontractors and

Form ‘B’: Names of Structural Steel and Rebar Subcontractors 12:00 Noon, Pacific Daylight Time

  1. BIDDING DOCUMENTS: Plans, Specifications, and addenda for this project may be viewed online at the MRSC Roster Bonfire electronic bidding portal at:

Free vendor registration is required to use this platform. It is the Bidder’s responsibility to check for addenda and other new documents online.

  1. BID SECURITY: A certified check, a bank cashiers check, or a bid bond executed by a State licensed surety company made payable to City of Sumner is required with each bid, in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the Base Bid plus Additive Alternates, if any.
  1. PREVAILING RATE OF WAGE: Pursuant to RCW 39.12, no worker, laborer, or mechanic employed in the performance of any part of this contract shall be paid less than the ‘prevailing rate of wage’ (in effect as the date the bids are due) as determined by the Industrial Statistician of the Department of Labor and Industries. Copies of the prevailing wage rate schedule are available directly from the Department of Labor and Industries. The project is located in Pierce County.
  1. REJECTION OF BIDS: The Owner reserves the right to waive informalities and to reject any and/or all Bids for any reason and in particular to reject a bid not accompanied by any required bid security or data required by the Bidding Documents or a Bid in any way incomplete or irregular.
