The City of Sumner is seeking expressions of interest from potential development partners in a unique opportunity. The City owns a full city block, 1.97 acres, in charming, historic Downtown Sumner, available for redevelopment. The block sits just two blocks from Sumner’s regional Sound Transit station, offering reliable access to downtown Seattle via train in 38 minutes. The City seeks unique ideas to develop a mixed-use project to support people to work, live, shop, and commute in a walkable, downtown core. Such ideas should complement Sumner’s historic mid-century, classic Main Street look and feel.
In the following Request for Interest (RFI), we have enclosed some general information about the site and the process of selecting a partner. The City wants to meet with groups interested in developing the site and discuss ideas that would embrace the City’s values and enhance the community’s lifestyle.
