The Urban Forestry Restoration Project, administered by the Washington State Dept. of Natural Resources (DNR) Urban and Community Forestry Program has provided a crew from Department of Ecology’s Puget SoundCorps team to help the city improve and maintain our Urban Forests. The crew is working along the Puyallup River to plant over 1400 trees and shrubs which will enhance habitat and native vegetation along the new force main from the Cherry Street Pump Station. The Puget SoundCorps crew will also be working along our Sumner Link Trail to help remove blackberry and other invasive vegetation.
