The City of Sumner and the DEI committee would like to recognize and celebrates the following holidays and celebrations for the month of February. February is filled with holidays and celebrations for people of all backgrounds and cultures.

  • Irish American History Month (March 1st – 31st)
  • Woman’s History Month (March 1st – 31st)
  • Purim (March 6th – 7th)
  • St Patrick’s Day (March 17)
  • Ramadan (March 22)

March is a month of various events and observances. Irish American History Month and Women’s History Month celebrate the contributions of Irish Americans and women, respectively, to society. Purim is a Jewish holiday commemorating the salvation from the plot of Haman, and St. Patrick’s Day is a cultural and religious holiday that honors the patron saint of Ireland. Finally, Ramadan is a month of fasting, prayer, and reflection for Muslims around the world. These events and observances offer opportunities for people to celebrate, learn, and reflect on different aspects of culture, history, and religion.
