Our online utility bill pay system is currently down. The software vendor is looking into the issue. In the meantime, we will not proceed with shut-offs as scheduled for 2/28/23 and will update the timeline when the system returns. You can still pay by credit card, check or cash at City Hall.

Sumner has joined most of our neighboring jurisdictions in requiring you to wear a helmet with a neck or chin strap fastened when operating a wheeled recreational device. What are those? They include roller skates, roller blades, skateboards, scooters, bicycles, motorized foot scooters, or electric personal assistive mobility devices, whether powered by gravity, hand, foot, pedal power, internal combustion or electric motor.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration demonstrates that the use of helmets is an effective countermeasure to reduce injuries and improve traffic safety among both children and adults. East Pierce Fire & Rescue also offers discounted helmets at $7 for children and $10 for adults.

Officers will give a grace period, but from now on, please grab your helmet and stay safe out there, Sumner!
