Notice of Public Hearing

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City of Sumner is conducting a public hearing to consider the surplus by intergovernmental disposition to the Pierce County Library System, a Washington public library municipal corporation, of the following real property pursuant to the procedure outlined in RCW 39.33. 

Property Common Name: Main Street Properties: 15208, 15216 and 15126 Main Street East

Location: Parcel nos. 0520197015; 0520193060; 0520197014, the vacant parcel located across Main Street from Fred Meyer

Description of Proposal: The City Council will hold a public hearing to consider the surplus by intergovernmental disposition of the real property described above. The Main Street Properties are currently owned and operated by the City of Sumner, purchased in 2018 with the intention that the Sumner Library branch would be relocated from its current location on Fryar Avenue to a more central and convenient location for the benefit of the community and the library’s visitors. This public hearing is required pursuant to RCW 39.33.020.

Date of Hearing: Monday, August 16, 2021 during the regular Council meeting beginning at 6pm.  The meeting is accessible to the public in-person at Sumner City Hall, or remotely via Zoom.
