Scope: City of Sumner (City) intends to establish a contract for the procurement of native plant materials for use at the White River Restoration Project located in Pierce County. The White River Restoration Project is a large-scale river and floodplain restoration project located in the City of Sumner. The project involves extensive grading to create a more frequently inundated floodplain that includes side channels and in-stream large wood installations.
Over the next four to five years, the City will plant roughly 404,000 bare root, 56,000 live stake, and 9,500 containerized native trees and shrubs throughout the project’s footprint. The request for proposals shall be to provide plant materials as specified in the RFP for the fall/winter 2025-2026, fall/winter 2026-2027, and potentially fall/winter 2027-2028 planting seasons at the established contract prices.
The RFP is to obtain all necessary plant materials used to grow the plants. And provide the plants for delivery as early as October 15th and no later than February 28th, for the respective planting seasons. More details are provided in the RFP.
The City may award more than one contract if the bid proposals reveal that one contractor is not able to provide all the required plant materials in the quantities or in timelines necessary for the project.
Request for Proposal (RFP) requirements and contractor selection criteria are contained in this document. RFPs are due on or before November 12, 2024 at 11:00 AM.
