Notice of Public Hearing

Notice is hereby given that the City of Sumner Planning Commission will hold a Public Hearing on a proposed update to citywide zoning regulations to expand locations available for senior housing and to adjust development standards to provide flexibility for senior housing,

as described below. The public may provide written comments by December 1, 2021 to or comment at the public hearing. The public has the right to review the contents of the official file for the proposal, provide written comments, participate in the public hearings/meetings, and request a copy of the final decision.

Proposal Name: Update of City Zoning Regulations Related To Senior Housing

Proposal Description: Update to City of Sumner Zoning Code regulations to increase incentives and options for senior housing.  Proposed regulations will:  1)  Expand where senior housing and senior apartments can be built, with a focus on independent living. Revisions are proposed to allow senior apartments in all zones, with performance standards to limit impacts.  2) Provide flexibility in development standards (e.g. building height, density), adjust other development standards (e.g. parking, open space) and update related definitions. No project is proposed at this time.
