The Sumner Police Department is a full-service accredited police department dedicated to protecting and serving our residents, businesses, and visitors. Our department provides a wide range of services including patrol operations, criminal investigations, school resource officer, community service officer, and a professional records unit. We are also proud to operate Metro Animal Services to provide animal control and animal sheltering services for the region.
In addition to the services we provide in Sumner, we actively participate in multiple regional partnerships and collaborative groups with neighboring cities and agencies. These partnerships allow us to share specialty resources, training opportunities, and coordinated emphasis patrols that help us better address crime, violence, complex investigations, traffic safety, and community concerns while maximizing the effectiveness of public safety resources.
At the heart of everything we do is our commitment to community. We believe that effective policing is built on trust, communication, and strong relationships. Our officers and staff are not only public servants – they are also members of this community.
