The City has conducted studies to identify potential fiber optic routes for the desired network. A general route description map is provided here. Potential vendors who desire GIS files (KML) describing the route may request these directly from the RFP contacts listed in this RFP.

Proposing vendors are not required to confine their built routes to only the City’s described routes.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: In the City’s proposed path design, there is alot of trail path, will the city be OK with micro-trenching along this path? And will there be any additional permitting needed for that?

A: The City will approve plans that include MicroTrenching.  Standard permitting regulations apply.

Q: Is there existing conduit between the Cemetery Shop Building and the Cemetery Office, and if not,  will there be construction required to connect the two buildings?

A: There is not existing conduit between the two buildings.  The City has revised their specification to require only 2 strands from Sumner City Hall to the Cemetery Shops Building and will provision its own link to the Cemetery Office from there.

Q; Is the City seeking a lower MRC (Monthly Recurring Cost) with a higher NRC (Non-Recurring Cost) or vice versa?

A: The City is open to receiving proposals with one or more pricing models from vendors.  Understanding the pricing options available from vendors will help the City make a better selection.
