Around here, coffee isn’t just a beverage, it’s practically standard-issue equipment! So you know we had to celebrate National Coffee Day on Tuesday.

We love that Rivers Edge Cafe let us step behind the counter and help them serve up some coffee to commemorate the occasion. Thanks for having us Rivers Edge! And thank you to everyone stopped by for a cup!

If you missed us this week, we are having coffee again next Wednesday, October 7th from 7am – 8:30 am for National Coffee with a Cop Day. This time at Untamed Coffee & Muddy Soda, so plan to join us there!

UPDATE – BNSF has advised us that they will have this work completed by 12pm tomorrow, October 1st. We will update you if that changes.

BNSF was scheduled to conduct nighttime work from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m. September 28–30, and the City approved the necessary street obstruction during those designated hours.

BNSF’s work has continued beyond the approved timeframe, and the roadway is currently impassable. Crews are continuing to work on the area, with BNSF currently estimating that repairs will be completed sometime tomorrow.

We understand the extended closure is frustrating and disruptive, particularly for our local businesses and those trying to access the area.

We appreciate the community’s patience while BNSF completes the necessary repairs. We will share additional information as it becomes available.

Attention Sumner Businesses

We have received reports of unauthorized “24/7 Locksmith” advertising stickers being placed on local businesses.

These stickers are being placed on businesses without the permission of the property or business owners. If you find one of these stickers on your business, please remove it.

We also encourage businesses to review available surveillance footage and report suspicious activity if you observe someone placing these stickers on your property.

Please do not contact the advertised number solely for the purpose of confronting the individual or business. As always, we encourage residents to research service providers before hiring them and verify applicable licensing and business information.

Come have coffee with us tomorrow at Rivers Edge Cafe! We will be there from 7am-8:30 am for coffee and conversation!

Traffic Alert – Heads up 9/28-10/1 – Railroad crossing closure – 6 PM – 8 am each day

BNSF will be closing their crossing at Main Street and Traffic Avenue for repairs beginning Monday, September 28th to Thursday, October 1st beginning at 6pm until 8am each day. Please plan ahead to use an alternative route.
