City Council Vacancy

Thank you for your interest in serving the community as a member of the Sumner City Council. To apply for the council vacancy, submit your completed application and materials by October 8, 2024, at 5:00 PM to the City Attorney. Candidate interviews are on October 23, with the appointment vote on November 4, and swearing-in tentatively on November 18. Eligibility requires living within Sumner’s city limits for at least one year and being a registered voter. The position offers a bi-weekly salary of $645, with no benefits, and requires 18-20 hours per month for meetings and community activities.
