Sumner’s Design Commission makes recommendations to the City Council on projects that shape the look, feel, and character of our community. The Commission reviews design elements for buildings, streetscapes, public spaces, and other developments to help ensure Sumner remains welcoming, attractive, and thoughtfully designed.
If you are interested in architecture, community design, historic character, public spaces, or helping guide the visual future of Sumner, this may be the right commission for you. Commissioners serve four-year terms, and we currently have two vacancies that need filling. This Commission usually meets once a month.
