We are proud to announce several well-earned promotions within the Sumner Police Department that occurred yesterday afternoon.

Andy McCurdy has been promoted to Chief, Loren Houselog to Deputy Chief, Justin Gregson to Lieutenant, and Geoff Boone to Sergeant. Each of these individuals has demonstrated exceptional dedication to leadership, a strong commitment to serving our community, and the depth of experience that has prepared them for these important roles.

This is a historic moment for SPD, as we have never had this many promotions at one time. It reflects not only the growth of our department, but also the strength and professionalism of our team.

We also want to share that Chief Brad Moericke will be retiring at the end of May after his many years of service and leadership. We will be announcing details soon for an open house to celebrate his retirement and recognize his contributions to the department and community.

Please join us in congratulating all of our newly promoted leaders!

Can you please help us by sharing this lost pup who was brought to our shelter yesterday afternoon by a city resident who found him wandering in the area of State Route 410 and Traffic Ave. in the City of Sumner. The dog is a young male wirehaired pointer, unaltered.

We have had a ton of unclaimed stray dogs come in over the past week, so we really appreciate your help to get the word out and hopefully get this pup reunified with their owner(s)!
