When visiting downtown Sumner, please remember to follow posted parking signs and back in where back-in angle parking is required.
Backing into designated spaces helps improve visibility, traffic flow and safety for drivers, pedestrians and other visitors. Pulling in forward can create a hazard when leaving the space and may result in a parking citation.

Safety first! We recently participated in a grant funded traffic safety/seatbelt emphasis in Sumner, with support from Tacoma PD. Over the 4-hour emphasis, we made a total of 37 traffic stops and issued 51 citations. Wearing a seatbelt is one of the easiest things we can do to drastically reduce likelihood of injury or death from a collision. Remember to buckle up!
A Memorial Day service will be held at the Sumner Cemetery on Memorial Day, Monday, May 25th at 10 AM for anyone that would like to attend, with a community lunch after the service at the VFW Hall.
