My name is Benji, and I love love love people!!! My family brought me to the shelter a couple of weeks ago when their living situation changed, so I’m hoping to find a new family that has room in their hearts for a friendly guy like me. I came from a house with kids, so I’m good around them and I’m very social.

The nice people at the shelter have tried to guess what combination of breeds that I am, and they think maybe some cattle dog, maybe some chihuahua, and who knows, maybe a bit of corgi too – what is your best guess?!?! Whatever it is, I’m on the larger end of what is considered a “small dog” but will still make a darn good lap dog.

I do get sad when I am left alone, and I would really love to be adopted by someone who is retired or works from home. So if you are a home-body that is looking for a home-buddy, please come see me at the Metro Animal Shelter in Puyallup!

Trick-or-treating can be a spooktacular time, but let’s make sure we keep it safe and fun for everyone this Halloween!

🕯️ Stick to well-lit streets and use reflective gear or glow sticks.
🚗 Drivers—slow down and watch for little ghosts and goblins!
🍬 Check treats before eating.
🐾 Keep pets indoors if they’re easily frightened by costumes or noise.

**UPDATE – Oreo the cat has been reunited with their owner!**

We had someone drop off a really friendly cat that they found in our city. This cat is very clearly well loved and well taken care of. Our shelter is currently way over capacity, so we are happy to keep the cat here if its owner can come to City Hall to claim it (with proof of ownership), and hopefully this kitty won’t have to be taken to the Shelter.

My name is Bella Marie, and I am so happy to be shelter’s featured “Pet of the Week” so hopefully someone will see this and absolutely fall in love with me.

All of the shelter staff tell me that I am the very best-behaved dog at the shelter, and that I’m their very favorite (shhhhhh, don’t tell the other pups in here!). I am so good with kids, that when we have little visitors at the shelter I get to be the one to play with them… and I am so good with dogs, that when a new dog comes into the shelter and needs to be behavior tested, I get that job every time. Yep, I’m pretty awesome.

I came into the shelter a couple of weeks ago, after my owner was struggling with homelessness. He loved me very much and wanted the best for me, so he asked for help to find me a safe and loving home. And while I am loved very much here at the shelter, it is time for me to find a real home where I can live my best life.

Lots of people contact the shelter asking if there are little dogs up for adoption, and I want you to know “I’M HERE – COME & GET ME!!!!”

My name is Haru, which means spring and sunshine, and I will most certainly brighten your day. I was brought to the shelter by my family, who loved me very much but unfortunately one of their kids was allergic to me. Bummer.

But here is the good news… my first family was so awesome, they trained me how to use a crate and where to go potty. I love kids and especially love to play with other dogs, so I would be an amazing sister for anyone who likes to play as much as I do.

I am really hoping to go to a house with a fenced yard so I can do my zoomies without you having to worry about me. I am also hoping that my new family would know about how special us pugs are, and that we need a little extra care to be our best self!

Our adorable little buddy Haru is available for meet & greets at the shelter starting at 11 am. Her adoption fee includes spay, microchip, and pet license.
