On Tuesday night, Chief McCurdy, Sergeant Boone, and Officers Miller and Patten attended a neighborhood BBQ and Block Watch meeting in the Katie Lane neighborhood. The event organizer sent the following message thanking all for their participation:

“Success! Despite the heat-57 attended with smiles, good food and an active sense of community. Many neighbors commented how they appreciated the Chief’s informal informative presentation. We loved seeing Sumner’s officers and hearing things from your perspective. Well done.”

🚧 Chip sealing is underway on several Sumner roads!

Crews are applying a layer of small rocks, called “chips,” to help extend the life of our roadways at a fraction of the cost and disruption of full repaving. Loose chips will be swept, and the final fog seal is scheduled for July 27 and 28.

The roads may temporarily look like gravel between these two steps, but don’t worry, the fog seal will create the finished, smooth surface. 🛣️✨

⚠️ Please slow down, follow posted signs and give crews plenty of room while traveling through work areas.
