Today we remember and honor the life, service and sacrifice of Pierce County Sheriff’s Deputy, Dom Calata. Gone but not forgotten.
Today we want to give a big congratulations to Kurt O’Connor on his graduation from the Basic Law Enforcement Academy! Kurt previously served as our Community Services Officer and is now continuing his services with us as a patrol officer. We are proud of Kurt’s dedication and wish him continued success in his new role.
Union Pacific Railroad needs to do repair work (again) on their tracks crossing 24th Street in Sumner. To do so, 24th Street will be fully closed, all lanes in both directions, Friday, March 6th at 6 pm through Sunday, March 8th 9 pm. A detour route will be in place. Expect congestion/delays, especially for freight traffic. Drivers may want to use an alternate route with the Traffic Avenue interchange.
