For some, drivers ed was a bit ago, and the rules of how close you can park to things can get a bit fuzzy. Here’s a refresher to help you park legally and help keep other drivers, pedestrians and property owners around you safe.

There’s no parking

  • Within 30 feet of a traffic signal, stop sign or yield sign.
  • Within 5 feet of a driveway, alley or private road.
  • Within 20 feet of a pedestrian crosswalk.
  • Within 15 feet of a fire hydrant.
  • Within 10 feet of a mailbox Mon-Sat 8 am-5 pm, excluding holidays.
