Our online utility bill pay system is currently down. The software vendor is looking into the issue. In the meantime, we will not proceed with shut-offs as scheduled for 2/28/23 and will update the timeline when the system returns. You can still pay by credit card, check or cash at City Hall.
Spring Clean Up is back, courtesy of Murrey’s Disposal, offering residents within Sumner city limits the opportunity to dispose of extra yard waste, trash, and an appliance at no additional cost. On Wednesday, April 17th, leave up to three bags of garbage (each 32 gallons or less and under 40 lbs) and up to three biodegradable bags of yard waste (32 gallons or less) by 7 am. Personal garbage cans and tires are not accepted. Please clearly label bags to avoid confusion between trash and yard waste, and cover in case of rain. Items exceeding 45 lbs or consisting of personal garbage cans, tires, car parts, barbecues, furniture, mattresses, or other bulky objects will not be accepted. Additionally, on Saturday, April 20th, you can place a single old appliance on the curb by 7 am for pickup. Accepted items are ranges, refrigerators, freezers, dryers, washing machines, dishwashers, hot water tanks, trash compactors, microwaves, or air conditioners. All appliances are picked up on the curb, even if your normal garbage pickup is in the alley.
