Our online utility bill pay system is currently down. The software vendor is looking into the issue. In the meantime, we will not proceed with shut-offs as scheduled for 2/28/23 and will update the timeline when the system returns. You can still pay by credit card, check or cash at City Hall.

The City continues to watch both the White and Puyallup rivers in Sumner this week. Predictions on both have them running high but just below levels that start impacting surrounding areas.

Short-Term Impacts

  • The full length of the Sumner Link Trail will be closed starting Tuesday afternoon, December 5. This is for your safety in anticipation of water over portions of the trail and possible downed trees/limbs.
  • As always, you can help us avoid urban flooding by removing leaves and other debris from storm drains.

Long-Term Solutions

Sumner has been working with both Tribes, Pierce County and other partners to design the White River Restoration projects, which will bring long-term flood protection as well as habitat enhancement.
