NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City of Sumner SEPA Official has issued a determination of non-significance on a Zoning Code Text Amendment to address Child Care centers as an out-right permitted use in the Sumner Municipal Code Title 18 Zoning.

Description of Proposal: These amendments are in response to the adopted Engrossed Substitute Senate Bill (ESSB) 5509 requiring cities and towns to allow child care centers as defined in RCW 46.216.010, and the conversion of existing buildings for the use of child care centers, as an outright permitted use in all zones except industrial zones, light industrial zones, and open space zones. The City of Sumner currently provides for a conditional use approval of an on-site child care center in industrial or light industrial zones, except in or around high hazard facilities.
