Our online utility bill pay system is currently down. The software vendor is looking into the issue. In the meantime, we will not proceed with shut-offs as scheduled for 2/28/23 and will update the timeline when the system returns. You can still pay by credit card, check or cash at City Hall.

We are an accredited law enforcement agency, which means we follow the highest standards for law enforcement. Our greatest asset as a department is our officers and support staff. They understand the importance of what they do and have a strong sense of duty and pride when it comes to protecting and serving you. Click here for a full message from Chief Moericke.

The Police Activities League of Sumner is proud to highlight the continued success of our PAL Badges & Boxing program. Thanks to the incredible generosity of our supporters, we’ve received not only financial contributions to support initiatives like Camp Possible and other future youth programs, but also vital equipment donations.

A special thank you goes to Officer Craig Hanuami of the Bellevue Police Department. After connecting with Officer Anderson, Officer Hanuami learned about our need for boxing equipment. Demonstrating true community spirit, he partnered with Barry Nakayama who runs a local martial arts gym in Issaquah, who generously donated several pairs of boxing gloves for our Badges & Boxing program.

Officer Hanuami’s support exemplifies the kind of interagency collaboration that uplifts and strengthens communities. While he already goes above and beyond for his own city, his outreach and dedication now extend to the youth of Sumner, and we are deeply grateful.

We are also grateful to highlight our partnership with the Gordon Family YMCA, where Badges & Boxing became a program offered at Teen Night on Fridays. Last Friday was the opening night and was a great turnout and great time.

These partnerships are essential as we continue to expand our programs. We are excited to watch our youth grow, learn, and thrive through the opportunities made possible by these connections.

Thank you again to everyone who contributes to our mission.

This week is also National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week !

We would like to honor the unseen heroes who are the calm in the chaos—our 911 Telecommunicators.

They are the first voice you hear in an emergency, working 24/7, 365 days a year to keep our communities safe. They provide critical instructions, comfort scared callers, and coordinate the rapid response of police, fire, and EMS—all while staying composed under pressure.

We thank you.
We see you.
We appreciate everything you do.

Please join us in recognizing the dedication, professionalism, and compassion of our 911 dispatchers this week—and every week, especially our partners at South Sound 911!
