NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City of Sumner has received a Resource Wildlife Hazard Area (RWHA) application for the Olympic Rockeries to reduce a stream buffer and provide mitigation buffer and enhance existing buffer. Additional details can be found below and with the project documents.

The public has the right to review the contents of the official file for the proposal, provide written comments, and request a copy of the final decision.

Project Name: Olympic Rockeries Stream Buffer

Description of Proposal: The Olympic Rockeries site has proposed a buffer reduction of 1796sf of land in order to allow for vehicular circulation on a relatively narrow parcel of land ranging from approximately 75’ wide to 160’ wide. The proposal is in response to code enforcement actions for buffer encroachment along the eastern edge of the site. This proposal will include the placement of 1796sf of new buffer for mitigation of the proposed reduction. The proposal also includes restoration and enhancement of the remaining onsite buffer of approximately 12,589sf which will include removal of encroached development, revegetation and critical areas fencing and signage.
