It’s back!

Join the popular Sumner University’s behind-the scenes tours throughout the city. It’s free to “enroll” and there’s no homework! All tours begin at 6:00 PM, and you can sign up for as many tours as you’d like.

February 26 – Wastewater Treatment Facility
On this tour you will get an insider’s tour of the facility and learn about the environmental, technical and chemical processes that protect our water system. Meet at Wastewater Treatment Facility (13114 – 63rd Street E). Estimated time: 1 hour

March 26 – Ryan House, Sumner City Cemetery
Visit the Ryan House for a short tour, enjoy a narrated driving tour of a few historic sites in Sumner, ending at the Sumner Cemetery. A bus will be provided for this tour. Meet at Ryan House (1228 Main St). Estimated time: 1.5 hours

April 23 – Development Tour of Sumner
Join our Community Development Director Ryan Windish for a driving tour of some of the upcoming projects around Sumner. A bus will be provided, meet at City Hall (1104 Maple Street). Estimated time: 1.5 hours

May 28 – City’s Shops
Explore the equipment, including vac trucks, spider excavator and a glimpse at all Public Works does for the City. Meet at City Shops facility (4711 142nd Avenue E). Estimated time: 1 hour

June 25 – Police, Metro Animal Services, City Hall
Take a look at a current patrol vehicle (not from the back), tour the police station, and talk to Metro officers about animal control and our shelter. After the tour, join Mayor Pugh, Councilmembers, and staff for coffee and donuts to review what’s working in Sumner or what we can do to make it better. Meet at City Hall. Estimated time: 2 hours
