Our online utility bill pay system is currently down. The software vendor is looking into the issue. In the meantime, we will not proceed with shut-offs as scheduled for 2/28/23 and will update the timeline when the system returns. You can still pay by credit card, check or cash at City Hall.

We are an accredited law enforcement agency, which means we follow the highest standards for law enforcement. Our greatest asset as a department is our officers and support staff. They understand the importance of what they do and have a strong sense of duty and pride when it comes to protecting and serving you. Click here for a full message from Chief Moericke.

Two Sumner PD Officers were on pro-active foot patrol this morning at 3am in the northeast part of town when they interrupted an attempted auto theft in progress. The suspect(s) fled in a Maroon Dodge Charger when they saw the officers. Although these particular suspects escaped, word is out that Sumner PD is on patrol even at 3am. Thanks to our officers for getting out and deterring crime while the rest of us are asleep in bed!

As we get ready celebrate our nation's independence with friends, family, and fireworks, let's also remember the importance of safety. If you're planning to drink, please make sure you have a designated driver or use a rideshare service.

Drunk driving puts everyone at risk. Let's make this 4th a safe one for all by not drinking and driving!
