We have closed the Emergency Operations Center and continue to monitor rivers and impacts as part of our normal City functions.

As of 1 pm today, Stewart Road is back open at the bridge. The White River still runs high but has lowered enough to get this route back open. Thank you for your patience through this closure.

Reporting Storm Damage

Pierce County encourages residents and businesses affected by the severe weather to report damages to help the County assess impacts and coordinate recovery efforts. This includes residents and businesses within incorporated cities like Sumner. Reporting damage is an important first step in determining community needs and may be required before state or federal disaster assistance becomes available. Pierce County has established a centralized webpage for damage reporting and recovery information:

River Level Predictions

We will continue to monitor the situation. You can watch the predictions at the following links:

Emergency Alerts

We will continue to update this website as needed. If we need to send any notices of evacuations or impacts, we are using the Pierce County Alert system. To sign up your business or residence, go to PC Alert. It helps to sign up your full address. If you sign up just with your zip code, you’ll get all alerts for 98390 and not know if flooding is impacting your specific area or not.
