We have been notified of a nation-wide outage and data breach affecting CodeRED, the third-party alert system we used to send our Sumner Alert emergency messaging. The City was among hundreds of agencies impacted by this nationwide cybersecurity attack. This breach occurred on CodeRED’s systems—not within the City’s networks, but we want to ensure our users are protected.

According to CodeRED, user information stored in their system may have been accessed, including name, address, email, phone number, and passwords associated with user accounts. If you signed up for CodeRED and used the same password you use with other accounts, please consider changing those passwords immediately as a precaution.

If you have specific questions about your data, please contact CodeRED directly at 866-939-0911 or crsupport@crisis24.com.

Please note: We had already begun the process of transitioning to a new emergency alerting system. We will update you on this process soon. In the meantime, you can always sign on to PC Alert.

Thank you for taking proactive steps to keep your information safe.
